Quality Engineer

Position Description:
 Client seeks an accomplished quality professional who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining quality within the 2882 Systems Integration Quality team supporting the execution of projects and proposals. This role will report to the 2882 SI Quality Manager and will work cross functionally with groups including but not limited to Quality, OPEX, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Project Management, and various stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ø Develop and implementation of effective processes, procedures, and instructions to support the continuous improvement of the 2882 Substations Integration product group.
Ø Facilitate and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization
Ø Identify Quality gaps within the organization and develop plans for continuous improvement initiatives
Ø Work closely with engineering and project management functions to improve engineering and construction QA/QC procedures. Conduct periodical audits to ensure compliance of such procedures.
Ø Work with  internal and external suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues, and define improvement plans. Support the SCM team in supplier qualification and audit.
Ø Improve the Continuous Improvement (CI) capability and culture of the 2882 SI organization by conducting training and coaching.
Ø Work with Quality Manager and local Quality team to set Quality priorities and targets, monitor progress, analyze the KPIs and act on deviations from targets.
Ø Drive business improvement programs and ensure alignment with Quality strategies and priorities including tools and systems
Ø Ensure monthly data collection and reporting in Quality for the local unit.
Ø Under direction, perform complex quality assurance assignments requiring diversified knowledge of engineering, process, and quality assurance to cost effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives. Proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase internal and external customer satisfaction.
Ø Capturing, developing, implementing, and enforcing best practices
Ø Developing, implementing, and enforcing a quality audit program

Experience/Skills:
Ø Experience in turnkey project/system business.
Ø Experience working in a multicultural, matrix organization
Ø Strong LEAN background
Ø Experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Ø High level of communication and organizational skills
Ø Knowledge and understanding of L6S methodology

Typical duties/responsibilities for quality may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Design, analyze and evaluate quality assurance processes. Act as principal investigator on Company sponsored task forces and organize and direct technical efforts of a team of engineers whose expertise encompasses various disciplines. Support other groups involved in such matters as quality related sales efforts and complying with quality standards.

Assume major responsibility for the preparation of quality assurance economic studies, specifications, purchase related documents, technical reports, proposals, licensing, safety and related documents. Plan, perform or assist in complex quality evaluations, audits, surveillance, document reviews and unique problem analysis.

Support various groups, suppliers, customers and regulatory authorities to accomplish quality programs. Seek opportunities and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.

Complexity of Tasks:
Assignments require diversified knowledge of engineering, quality, and related functions and in-depth knowledge of quality assurance programs, procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines. Requires excellent communication skills to negotiate effectively with suppliers, customers and internal groups, and ability to coordinate activities involving diverse technical disciplines. Requires ability to develop innovative solutions to problems and make decisions regarding quality matters that may significantly impact contracts. Errors are likely to result in loss of time or rework, and may affect customer relations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 8 years of experience, or alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
