EMC Engineer


We are looking for an experienced and degreed Electromagnetic Engineer who will work closely with our current customers in engineering, testing and and analysis for the certification process.  We are looking for a detail oriented individual and for someone who wants to add value to our organization.


Takes day-to-day direction from, and is assigned tasks by, EMC Manager/Site Supervisor at the laboratory where the engineer is assigned.
Provide engineering support for EMC compliance and certification of clients’ products.
Review tests reports, communicates both orally and in writing with customers.
Provide assistance with agency and regulatory approvals, both in the US and globally.
Provide engineering expertise to clients during mitigation to ensure product compliance with
international EMC requirements.
Works with Account Executives and Customer Service Administrators to determine customers testing
requirements and charges for required tests and other services.
Assist clients in all facets of the regulatory approvals process, including design reviews, test plan preparation, EMC and Safety troubleshooting/mitigation, and agency submittals.
Assist clients and other personnel in the preparation, review, and submittal of reports and other documentation, to gain regulatory approval and/or certification from various agencies and organizations, such as: BSMI, UL, CSA, CCIB, VCCI, FCC, and EU.
Manage client’s projects, including gathering pretest information, answering any questions that our customers may have regarding upcoming projects, and issuing work to any sub-contractors involved.
Perform immunity and emission testing per requirements detailed in international EMC standards and
test procedures. Review test plans and specifications prior to test.
Provide expertise in the control of electromagnetic emissions and immunity through design
recommendations and review of product designs.
Keep abreast of the latest EMC design theory, including detailed theoretical knowledge in the technical areas of shielding, filtering, grounding, bonding, cabling, gasketing, waveguides, and printed circuit board layout methods.
Maintain knowledge of proper operational procedures of all test equipment including spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, preamplifiers, quasi-peak adapters, signal/impulse generators, antennas, oscilloscopes, etc. Assure proper calibration and
functioning of all test equipment.
Keep abreast of current EMC standards, test procedures, instrumentation, technology and engineering service capabilities by internal training sessions, external seminars, and reading technical articles.
Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances including answering questions, relaying messages and providing information with regard to standards, test procedures, technical
recommendations for compliance and certification requirements.
Performs other tasks as directed by Product Manager/EMC Manager/Site Supervisor.


Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, related field, or foreign degree equivalent, and
Two year(s) of experience in EMC testing
Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with all
employees and customers. 
Ability to plan and organize giving attention to detail and follow-through.  Reliable judgment that is consistent,
adaptable to unusual situations, and realistic.
Must have a common sense approach to solving problems
