Our customer in the Plymouth, MI area is seeking EMC Technicians to join their team as permanent members. 

EMC Technician

Summary

We are looking for an experienced and degreed Electromagnetic Engineer who will work closely with our current customers in engineering, testing and and analysis for the certification process.  We are looking for a detail oriented individual and for someone who wants to add value to our organization.

Responsibilities

Takes day-to-day direction from, and is assigned tasks by, Site Supervisor/Manager at the laboratory where technician is assigned.
Follows all applicable local work instructions or procedures.
Perform emission and immunity testing per requirements set out in various domestic and international EMC Standards and Test
Procedures including
review of test plans and specifications prior to test.
Prepares all required documentation to accurately and completely record the test results for each test performed
Communicates test progress to Site Supervisor
Tracks and records, accurately and completely, the time, test equipment, and any problems or other
activities required to complete each EMC test.
Completes all required documentation and data entry in a timely manner, after completion of
each test, or at the end of the testing shift, as appropriate.
Maintain working knowledge of proper use of operational procedures of emission and immunity test equipment including spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, pre-amplifiers, quasi-peak adapters, signal/impulse generators, antennas, LISN’s, oscilloscopes, etc.
Maintains cleanliness, neatness, and efficient organization of test areas and shield rooms.
Keep abreast of current EMC standards, test procedures, instrumentation, technology and capabilities by internal training sessions, external seminars, and articles.
Maintain a basic knowledge in the technical areas of shielding, filtering, grounding, bonding etc.
Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with internal and external customers in all circumstances including answering questions, relaying messages and providing information with regard to standards, test procedures, technical requirements
for compliance.
Perform other projects as directed by the Product Manager/EMC Manager/Site Supervisor

Requirements

Associates Degree in Electronics Technology Physics, related field, or foreign degree equivalent or
equivalent experience
Minimum  of one year(s) of experience in EMC testing
Accurate, clear, and timely communication of information, upward and lateral, including verbal, written and listening skills. 
Ability to plan and organize, giving attention to detail and follow-through. 
Ability to make reliable judgment that is consistent, adaptable to unusual situations, realistic, common sense approach to job and problems.

Willingness to consider other’s ideas and to work with others.
