Shipping & Receiving Clerk

Position Overview
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for assisting with all inbound and outbound freight, supplies and machinery. This position is also responsible for maintaining the crib. Must work closely with Accounting Department to assist with establishing and revising inventory procedures.

Work Schedule
Hours:  7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

Primary Functions & Responsibilities
• Organize shipments of finished products
• Assist with scheduling the pickup and delivery of materials for production including the pickup of recyclables; drive the hi/lo as needed
• Assist with ordering the proper quantities of shipping and shop supplies
• Verify that shipments received quantities match those that are on the packing list or other shipping documents and receive into the system
• Label all incoming parts with job number, unit number and purchase order (PO) numbers, and stock on assigned shelves
• Timely submittal of all receiving documents required to pay vendors to accounting
• Assist with periodic cycle counts
• Assist with maintaining accurate inventory locations in the system
• Work with Purchasing and other manufacturing personnel on the timely return of unused materials from the job shelves
• Maintain an up-to-date location map of all job shelves in crib
• Track and report time spent on projects using timekeeping system
• Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Must be able to manage multiple activities, meet deadlines and determine priorities
• Must be able to perform proper packaging and loading of trucks
• Experience with an integrated ERP system preferred; SAP preferred
• Ability to learn new software systems
• Fork truck experience and current fork truck license
• Ability to rig, sling and use overhead crane to lift work pieces
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment 

Minimum Qualifications
• 3+ years of relevant experience in shipping and receiving
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook (required), Excel (Basic level), Word (Basic level)
• Basic knowledge of an integrated ERP system, SAP preferred

Physical Demands
• Must have adequate finger dexterity for writing and computer use
• The position involves reading, writing, mathematics and measuring
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and have the ability to climb, stand, stoop or kneel for extended periods of time

Work Environment
• Work primarily is done in an office area using a computer, and sometimes equipment placed in his or her work area related to projects he or she is currently working on
• May be expected to work on a manufacturing shop floor, which could involve exposure to hazards
• Work surfaces may be slippery, uneven, or unstable
• Shop temperatures may not always be controlled and could vary from hot to cold, depending on the season
