Material Handler - 2nd shift - $17/hr. + Attendance Bonus

  • $17.00 an hour
  • $150 Weekly attendance bonus

Summary/Objective
As the Material Handler, you will be responsible for operating material handling equipment for the purposes of receiving, shipping, and accurate inventory management of the customer’s product. The Material Handler must be accountable for the safe and efficient operations of the equipment. 

Essential Duties

  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. 
  • Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate area.
  • Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation. 
  • Prepare inbound tallies and submit to CSR's.
  • Use a scanner or document to pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. 
  • Use a scanner or document to perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards. 
  • Load product efficiently, moving it from storage or staging areas into truck trailers, pickups, van trailers, or railcars.  Sign out Drivers as needed.
  • Maintain systems (locator and other) to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. 
  • Assist in physical inventories. 
  • Ensure proper stock rotation. (FIFO).
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Conduct operations in a manner, which promotes safety. 
  • Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Daily inspection and perform minor preventive maintenance on forklifts or other equipment. 
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.  Identify deficiencies and report to supervisor.
  • Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed, and all other miscellaneous duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Clean railcars, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
  • Responsible for awareness and compliance with warehouse work rules and company policies per union contract.
  • Attend all training sessions and meetings as required.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Familiar with the company Quality Program.
  • Follow ISO Quality procedures as they pertain to the warehouse workers’ duties.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education – High School education required.
  • Experience – Six (6) to Twelve (12) months experience in a similar position

Preferred Qualifications Not Required
1. Forklift/Pallet Jack Experience
2. Automotive Manufacturing Experience
