Test Technician

Auburn Hills, Michigan
Understand and comprehend customer and internal test specifications
• Prepare samples for specific testing required
• Plan, design, build and set-up test fixtures/rigs or other items that would be required to complete the
specifications
• Identify any technical information or specification gaps that prevent the team from being able to develop a test
to support the customer requirements
• Develop/follow testing procedures to support the set-up/execution of the test requirements.
• Provide support and work with R&D in identifying the research needs and translating them into testing
procedures.
• Maintain lessons learned and update standards where appropriate.
• Support global benchmarking/information sharing for continuous improvement to ensure competitiveness.
• Establish and manage timing related to test scheduling, time to completion and regular status updates
• Support/maintain DVP&R, status reviews and updates with team members
• Support testing and prove out of product related issues
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Two year college degree in a technical field or High School diploma with equivalent experience
• Three to five year’s experience with automotive environment
• Experience with OEM product development cycle.
• Experience with OEM Design specifications and requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Fabrication of test fixture and set-up abilities
• Hands on exposure and knowledge of the areas of manufacturing, design and engineering and product launch
processes.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
• Formal test report writing skills
• Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and quality driven
• Computer literacy and basic skill with MS Office software, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Familiar with current quality management system and documentation, i.e., ISO/TS16949.2
