Accounting Analyst Associate
Job Description: The primary need is the ability to reconcile. I have two main projects in mind to start. 1) reconciling our intercompany variances 2) creating “packets” of our capital spend projects including the invoicing for 2013-2017 for a sales tax audit we are in the middle of. We have pulled invoices and we have a list, some files but nothing organized. This is due in October for the NJ tax department
Basic Function: This position will be responsible for preparing and recording accounting journal entries (standard, correcting and reoccurring) as needed. Additional responsibilities include conducting account reconciliation’s to maintain an up-to-date status, communicating with analysts at various businesses to resolved issues, intercompany back charge invoicing, and allocation, assessment and distribution system setups.
Typical duties/responsibilities for finance may include, but are not limited to the following:
Perform basic analysis of accounting records for accuracy and completeness. Research and solve basic accounting problems
Review proper classification and coding of income and expenditures.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with procedures in general accounting practices, budgets and insurance policies
Prepare documentation, including invoices, financial reports, expenditure forecasts and cost management reports
Process, update and maintain various accounting documents in accordance with policies and procedures
Reconcile, review and approve various accounting records and transactions. Make corrections to various databases as appropriate
Coordinate accounting-related mailings and compose correspondence
Complexity of Tasks: Requires thorough knowledge of financial policies and procedures, and ability to effectively interpret financial operating statistics and communicate information to management. Financial activities, analyses, studies and research are varied and somewhat difficult, and usually involve a moderate level of responsibility.
Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field and 2 to 5 years of experience or a special combination of education and experience, and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
