Machine Build Assistant

Job Description
 
  • Requires daily line-up/direction to complete tasks / Frequent Supervision / Quality of work meet expectations with some reinforcement or redirection / competent
  • Assist Machine Builder Leader with interpreting customer specifications.
  • Assist Machine Builder Leader with projecting manpower required to complete project per project timeline.
  • Assist Machine Builder Leader with troubleshooting, and functionality of tooling.
  • Assist Machine Builder Leader with disassembling and shipping of equipment.
  • Assist Machine Builder Leader with necessary requirements to install equipment in customer facilities. Assures a clean work area.
  • Must be proficient in using standard shop tooling equipment (Drill press, Band saws, Grinders, Sanders, Lathes, Bridgeports, etc.)
  • Must be proficient with using standard tools of trade (Calipers, Micrometers, Transit Level, Drills motors, Hammer drills, Micrometers, Feeler gauges, etc.)
  • Follows company policies, procedures, and rules. Understands and follows safety & environmental regulations and identifies safety/environmental concerns.
  • Basic experience in reading system level drawing.
  • Basic experience in interpreting system blueprints with minimal supervision.
  • Updates E-BOM summary weekly and gives to Mechanical Supervisor.

Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Experience
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Education
  • 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
