Documentation Engineer

Documentation Engineer is to be responsible for being the technical expert with respect to mechanical engineering documentation. This engineer is to be familiar with understanding the details required to successfully deliver final documentation to internal and external customers. In addition, this engineer will be required to mentor and lead other documentation engineers in order to achieve the quality, delivery, and budget requirements of each project documentation needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Leads the resources provided to compile the accurate final documentation packages • Develops a data base of our customers’ latest final documentation specifications while understanding the necessary tasks required to fulfill the specifications. • Understands the best methods to store and organize 2D drawings, 3D models, and other potential final deliverables to customers • Develops relationships with our customers’ documentation departments to ensure a continuous communication flow • Determines the most efficient method(s) to process each unique documentation project based on the specifications and manpower available . • Maintains a good, professional working relationship with all company personnel, as well as vendors, subcontractors, and customers. • Competently understands and works under the guidelines, policies, procedures, and instructions of the Quality System to achieve quality and customer satisfaction objectives. • Competently works in a fast-paced, project-oriented, deadline-driven, and continuously improving environment to meet company goals concerning schedule, technical accuracy, and budget. • Helps prepare engineering final documentation estimates for project proposals. • Willingness to work in both individual and group environments. Works with engineering subcontractors to coordinate their activities and to ensure the subcontractor work is checked and the standards and quality . Required Skills • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variable • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency in MS Office • Strong attention to detail • Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking Required Experience • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.E.E.) from four-year College or university • 10 years related experience and/or training; • Or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Expert knowledge in mechanical engineering drawing/models filing methods, • Excellent computer skills (i.e., MS Office, ACAD, Windows).
