EHS Specialist

Auburn Hills, Michigan
 EHS Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of the organization’s facility-wide EHS program in order to ensure compliance with MIOSHA & DEQ regulations, and ISO 14001 / OHSAS 18001 requirements.

Works to help develop environmental, health and safety programs and teams to recognize as a world class leader. Assists with directing EHS Committee activities and ensuring completion of those activities.

Conducts new-hire safety orientations and other required regulatory training to employees and contractors. Maintains EHS training database. 

Assists with incident investigations, root cause analysis and the development and implementation of corrective actions. Maintains the incident reporting database and is responsible for monthly EHS KPI data collection and reporting.

Conducts regular safety & environmental compliance audits of the facility. Performs behavior-based safety audits. Collects audit results from others and tracks audit closure. 

Assists with maintenance of the ISO 14001 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001 (Safety & Health) Management systems, including revising and/or creating new procedures, facilitating internal and external audits, and maintaining the corrective action database. 

Assists with all emergency teams and activities, which may include: revising emergency plans (evacuation, tornado, bomb threat, spill control, power outage, etc.), conducting drills, or providing training to team members. 

Supports any 6S-related activities in the facility, which may include: program development, training or auditing.

Provide overall Environmental, Health & Safety leadership to all plant functions in order to develop proactive approaches to ensure achievement of company goals and objectives.
